"IRIDE: Italy's Groundbreaking Earth Observation Satellite Constellation Program"

Exciting news from the world of space technology!

Officina Stellare, a Vicenza-based company, has signed a contract with Argotec worth €3.3 million for the supply of the first lot of a series of space telescopes for the High-Resolution multispectral mission for Earth Observation. This project will be part of the Italian satellite constellation called "IRIDE," which is set to be completed by 2026.

The IRIDE constellation is an end-to-end system made up of a set of sub-constellations of LEO satellites, operational ground infrastructure, and services intended for the Italian Public Administration. The sub-constellations provide operational payloads with various spatial resolutions sensitive to different bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, ranging from microwave radar imaging to optical imaging, both in multispectral and hyperspectral modes.

The Italian IRIDE constellation will support the Civil Protection and other Administrations to counter hydrogeological instability and fires, protect the coasts, monitor critical infrastructures, air quality and meteorological conditions. It will also provide analytical data for the development of commercial applications by startups, small and medium enterprises, and sector industries.

Gino Bucciol, Vice President of Business Development and Co-Founder of Officina Stellare, said, "It is a unique, innovative, and high-tech project of which we are proud, and which ensures Officina Stellare a key role within the Italian space supply chain. For its implementation, we will work in close synergy with Argotec, with the important contribution of TSD Space for the flight imaging subsystem, a further opportunity to increase our know-how and contribute to strengthening the sector industry."

This project will help to consolidate the sector of satellites for Earth Observation, and we are thrilled to be a part of it. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project!
