What is Apple CD-ROM extension patched?

Patched versions of the Apple CD-ROM extension, which enables you to use it as a driver for non-Apple branded CD-ROM drives. Unlike other hacks, the ability to use it with genuine Apple CD-ROM drives is retained.

They also function as drivers for RaSCSI emulated CD-ROM drives.
