It was recently confirmed that Robert De Niro has become a father yet again, this time at the grand age of 79.

However, the actor's news has received a lot of controversial responses from the public, who feel he may be too old to properly raise a child.

De Niro has a number of other children, though, so he clearly knows what he is doing. But, just what is his current relationship with his older offspring?

How many children does Robert De Niro have?

The New York Post has reported that De Niro's six older children haven't yet met his two-month-old daughter.

His other children range from the ages of 51 to 11, although in the same report it was made clear that they were all going to meet for the first time on Father's Day.

"Not yet, but they will," De Niro explained to People Magazine.

De Niro was able to keep the birth of his youngest daughter a secret for around a month, and she was born in April.

However, he doesn't feel that his advanced years will be a barrier to him being an effective parent, and even added that he and his partner had factored that into their plans.

"It feels great, yeah," he confirmed.

"I have certain awareness. When you're older you have awareness of certain things in life, like dynamics and everything."

In his first marriage the Hollywood star had two children, Drena and Raphael.

Then came Julian and Aaron in his next relationship, whilst he then had Elliot and Helen with his second wife.
