Lauren Burnham continues to be convinced that her “Bachelor” beau Arie Luyendyk Jr. will stay true to her forever. For that reason, the 26-year-old says she is moving to be with him in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is eager to give him what he says he wants more than anything: a family with up to four kids.
“I’m moving to Scottsdale,” Burnham told People in a new interview. “And we’re both very excited about marriage and starting a family.”
Luyendyk Jr. admitted that, at 36, it’s time for him to settle down and get started on having a family. Indeed, he knows he wants two to four kids.
“If we get lucky, maybe we’d have twins!” he told People.
The couple also plan to join forces professionally. “We plan on doing real estate together,” Luyendyk Jr., a race car driver-turned realtor told People. “We’ll do some remodels. It’ll be fun!”
Those sound like some big changes to make for a couple whose courtship took place during Season 22 of the reality TV show and whose romance was questionable even through the finale.
Luyendyk Jr. may have become the most hated “Bachelor” ever — or even the most hated man in America — by being indecisive in a grating, self-serving way during the finale. He first dumped Burnham and proposed to Becca Kufrin, a publicist from Minnesota, whom he actually thought would make a better wife and mom.
But Luyendyk Jr. then turned around and dumped Kufrin a few weeks later because he said he still had strong feelings for Burnham. The show featured an excruciating 40-minute unedited scene of Kufrin, 27, weeping as Luyendyk Jr. explained he could not stop thinking about Burnham.
In the days after that episode aired earlier this month, ex-girlfrends of Luyendyk Jr. came forward to say that he likes to present himself as a “hopeless romantic,” but they say he’s a “cheat” who is always auditioning for the next pretty young girlfriend. One also claimed he lied about her miscarriage on air to garner sympathy from Burnham.
Luyendyk Jr.’s most recent ex-girlfriend, receptionist Sydney Stempfley, 26, told “Entertainment Tonight” that she was completely “blindsided” by news that he was going to be the next “Bachelor.” She suspects he broke up with her to clear his way to be on the show.
In October, Stempfley also revealed her suspicion that Luyendyk Jr. had been unfaithful during their relationship, telling the website Betches. “That guy had hoes in different area codes. I didn’t really suspect anything at the time. … But after the fact, I realize there were definitely other girls in the picture.”
Perhaps in a bid to win sympathy from Burnham during the show, Luyendyk Jr. claimed that an ex-girlfriend broke up with him over the phone after telling him she had suffered a miscarriage.
In an interview with Life & Style, the girlfriend, Cassie Harshman, said Luyendyk Jr. mischaracterized how he learned about the miscarriage, which occurred seven years earlier. In fact, she said he was with her in the doctor’s office when they learned she had lost their baby. She also told Life & Style: “It wasn’t his story to tell.”
In the new interview with People, Burnham professed her faith in Luyendyk Jr.’s goodness and said she doesn’t believe he will eventually leave her for someone else — as has been the pattern described by ex-girlfriends.

“I was afraid he would change his mind again,” she said. “I feel comfortable that he’s not going to.”
Burnham and Luyendyk Jr. also gushed to People about how madly in love they are, saying they haven’t gone more than a week without seeing each other.
“We tell each other we love each other 1,000 times a day,” Luyendyk Jr. said.
