Where Are They Now? Federico Giunti



Born in 1971, Federico Giunti joined the Rossoneri in January 1999 from Parma in a swap deal that involved defender Giuseppe Cardone. Chico, as nicknamed by the AC Milan supporters, made his Serie A debut with the Diavoli in a 1-0 defeat against Roma at the Olimpico. In that same season, he made 6 Serie A appearances with the Rossoneri, who were later on crowned as Scudetto champions. He remained with the Rossoneri for another 2 campaigns, playing 24 matches in each season. One particular event that Federico will surely remain known and loved for by the Milan fans happened on the 11th of May in 2001. This was a particular derby, were he scored the 3rd goal in what resulted in a 6-0 win for the only and proper football club in Milano. Following the spell at AC Milan, Giunti joined Serie A side Brescia, playing alongside legends Pep Guardiola and Roberto Baggio.


Presently, he is now managing the AC Milan under 19 squad after being appointed in December of 2018. In the 2019/20 season, he led the Primavera side to the promotion to Primavera 1 after placing first with a 16 point lead over runners-up SPAL. That same season served as a showcase for bright hot prospects such as defender Bellodi and forwards Colombo and Maldini, all being promoted to the senior squad for the upcoming season. At the time of writing this article, AC Milan Primavera have only played 3 matches of the 20/21 campaign, being 1 win and 2 defeats.
