Welcome to my humble little web page featuring the very cool PC game "Heavy Metal -F.A.K.K.2".
Of course this page was created especially for fans of the new film Heavy Metal 2000, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to take on the role of the hero in a cool movie from that very perspective? Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 is a PC game showcasing just such a scenario, and oh how immersive a game it is! In this case you take on the role of "Julie" our hero (yes, here the hero happens to be a woman), and despite being easy on the eyes to look at, she kicks some serious butt -Lara Croft eat your heart out! Aside from playing the game from the "third person" perspective (I usually prefer playing in the "first person" as in Unreal Tournament but...), it is easy to play with a little practice. I suggest first-timers absolutely master the "obstacle course" during training and learn your weapons well -especially the swords. Weapons, magic, and gadgets abound in this game -Oh, and you want eye candy? You got it! Actually, this game's pretty much got it all. But there is a small price to pay for all this flash. You will need a rather fast system in order to run it smoothly or else you'll take certain "performance hits". However, after some minor tweaking, I was able to get acceptable frame rates on my system (AMD K6-2 550Mhz; 128MB RAM; 3dfx Voodoo5 5500; Creative SoundBlaster PCI 512). This was also enhanced further after installing and running the "WickedGL" drivers -a special miniGL port for video boards based on 3dfx Voodoo2/3/5, and Voodoo Banshee chipsets, which are free and can be found here. My system is able to run the game rather well running the WickedGL drivers with most of the game options turned up between the mid-range to high settings, and looks beautiful. This along with the Creative PCI 512 sound card running with the "EAX" Environmental Audio hardware acceleration turned on makes for one unbelievable experience that is a bit difficult to describe.
The story:
The acronym F.A.K.K.² (Federation Assigned Ketogenic
Killzone) is a universal warning to all Federation deep space navigators. It
indicates an extreme biohazard to all carbon-based life forms, from simple
one-cell organisms to complex sentient life. F.A.K.K.² indicates a biohazard
exponentially more dangerous - an area where life enters and only death remains.
F.A.K.K.² Is also the name of a world so sublime, with a secret so great, that
only the most terrifying classification could keep the spoilers away.
And now F.A.K.K.² is a woman who has assumed the name of the world she cherished, when that name alone could no longer protect her tranquil paradise from greed, cruelty and annihilation. With vengeance in her soul, love in her heart and two fully automatic, four-barreled blasters in her hands, F.A.K.K.² Is a ravishing avenger on a deadly mission. A steel-eyed huntress and expert warrior, F.A.K.K.² fights with a single purpose - she will not rest until she's freed her sister from the ruthless, power-hungry monster who abducted her when he ravaged their majestic planet and stole its greatest secret.
