We lean, perch, sit, recline and sink into our furniture with our digital extensions. Emancipated from the safe haven of desk-based work, we tirelessly seek comfort in increasingly fluid environments. In response to this new need, the media offer us hyperfunctional products more like medical devices than cozy furniture or domestic companions. With the 'Signs' project, we started from scratch by drawing essential lines and angles to support and accommodate the choreography designed by our bodies.

Lanzavecchia+Wai
The design studio, based in both Italy and Singapore, was founded in 2010. Wai hails from Singapore and studied as an industrial designer at the National University, while Lanzavecchia holds a degree in Product Design from Politecnico di Milano. They began their collaboration at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, where they both graduated with a Master's degree in Design under the direction of Gijs Bakker, co-founder of Droog Design. Their work ranges from limited editions to serial products for brands such as Zanotta, FIAM, Living Divani, Cappellini, De Castelli, Gallotti & Radice, Bosa, Nodus, and Mirage, to special commissions for major brands and museums such as Hermès, La Triennale di Milano, MAXXI, Alcantara , Antolini, Tod's, AgustaWestland, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Musem in New York, and The Design Museum in London. They were honored with the 2018 Land Rover BORN Award, the 2016 Red Dot Award Product Design, and Young Design Talent of the Year by Elle Décor in 2014.
