A new seafood scampi dish at Henry's on Royal Poinciana Way in Via Flagler features trottole, a lesser-known-in-America pasta whose name means "spinning tops" in Italian.

From linguine and pappardelle to farfalle and orecchiette, many long and shaped Italian pastas have been familiar to the island’s dining-out scene. But how about trottole?

The lesser-known-in-America spiral-like pasta stars in a new dish at Henry’s in Via Flagler by The Breakers.

On Wednesdays, Henry’s, named after The Breakers’ founder Henry Flagler, now features trottole seafood scampi. With lobster, shrimp, calamari and garlic-lemon butter, the trottole pasta dish is $48.

Trottole means “spinning tops” in Italian. The ridges in the coiled pasta add texture and allow the sauce to cling.

The trottole seafood scampi at Henry’s is one of seven daily pasta specials at the restaurant — one for each day of the week.

They include spaghettini with kale, Marconi-almond pesto, soft egg and pecorino ($34) on Mondays, and pappardelle with wild mushrooms, mascarpone cream and white-truffle oil ($38) on Saturdays.
