Steven Patrick Morrissey (mostly known as just Morrissey) is one of the most influential musicians of our time.  He fronted The Smiths before breaking out on his own for a successful solo career and he is even given credit for pioneering the entire indie rock movement.

With a career and life like his, it is no surprise that Morrissey has decided to write a memoir.  According to this article from The Guardian, the autobiography is complete and took the musician over three years to finish.  The draft now spans over 660 pages and includes 200,000 words.

Morrissey has yet to choose a publisher for the highly-anticipated book, though an editor at Faber is doing everything in his power to woo the performer into signing a deal.  Morrissey has said he'd like to see the book instantly published as a Penguin Classic.

The musician is currently in the "re-drafting and trimming" stages of the writing process and he hopes to have the book published at some point in 2012.

We're sure fans are eagerly waiting for Morrissey's memoir to hit shelves.
