A few weeks ago, the place to be for all the real trail riders in Italy was the Cretaceo, in Turin. Read on for some delicious bbq & pizza, nice riding and most of all good vibes!

Cooking and Riding
Pizza is our way of life, a handcrafted Oven can't miss!

First of all let me tell you a bit about the Cretaceo and Turin’s trail scene history: one of the first trails ever in Italy was the Jurassico, built by Ambro, Gonzo, Ciccio and Piè, a few of the very first dirt jumpers in Italy, and where the new generation of dirters learnt how to ride and build dirt jumps... After the death of the Jurassico, and a few unsuccessful attempts to make something legal, the crew found the perfect spot for a new trail, which name came obvious to us as a tribute to our former trail. The Cretaceo was born!
It’s been a year now since the digging of the first shovelful of this fantastic Turin hill’s clay. This first birthday and the fact that Thomas De Fleurian had to celebrate his university degree in vet medicine were the perfect excuses, if excuses were needed, to throw a good ol’ jam with all the italian mtb and bmx scene!

And here's some words by the engineer and fisrt digger of this amazing trail, Thomas:
“Organizing the whole stuff wasn’t easy, especially the last week of digging, mostly alone, with my hand still healing from a bad fracture one month before, but it was well worth it as soon as I could see the big smile on the face of every guest arriving at the trail!
The jam began with a good meal of meat and pizza cooked on our bbq and in our hand crafted dirt pizza oven, and of course copious amount of beer!
After a bit of watering, the jumps were ready for what everybody was waiting for, some riding! And it was a good afternoon of trail riding, chilling and fun! We got a few crazy moves, but what I was most stoked about was the friendly and chilled out atmosphere of the whole day!
Even if I couldn’t ride with that hand issue, I spent an awesome day with all my buddies from all around Italy (some made more than 500km to come), and all the efforts made were well repaid with all the smiles and compliments I got from everybody!

Italian Pizza made by a french champignon... OMG
Pizza is almost ready, beer is on the stage
Italians do it better...

Of course all of this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of all my friends!
Some huge thanks go the locals, and mostly Pive and Gandi for their help for the digging and “food logistic”, to my girl Karo for the pictures and the T-shirts management, to Simona and Marta for the food serving, to Cocis for the riders shuttle, to Umbo and Ste for the jam judging and to Ludo for the filming and video editing.
Last but not least, thanks to everybody for coming and for the good vibes, see you next year!!”
