A spectacular, large, epiphytic bromeliad that forms a large rosette of broad green or purplish leaves and grows a tall, branched inflorescence with unusual, green flowers that are pollinated by bats. Native to rainforests from central America to Ecuador and the western Caribbean to 1200 m, it is best suited to tropical climates in USDA Zones 10 and above.
