THIS SPECIES IS A HOUSEHOLD PEST. KEEP AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This pest species is often found in dormitories, laboratories, and libraries, earning it the nickname the “university roach”. It has been found associated with humans for an extremely long time, with specimens and spent oothecae being found in ancient Egyptian tombs and other structures. This species loves heat and tolerates drier conditions than many other roaches, though the young nymphs do better when kept with some moisture. Females lay numerous oothecae (often on the same spot), creating a giant blob of stacked oothecae.
