How Christy Chung and Yasmine Ross became an ‘It’ style duo: the mother-daughter pair have both landed beauty pageant titles, don fashionable outfits … and could even be mistaken for sisters
Who doesn’t love a fashionable mother-daughter duo?
Now 52 years old, Chung is the mother of three daughters. Her eldest kid Yasmine Ross has been making the most headlines lately though, as she came second place in 2021’s Miss Chinese Vancouver pageant at age 23.
Both Chung and Ross clearly have a knack for fashion and beauty, and could even be mistaken for sisters with their youthful glow.
Here’s what to know about the two …
Christy Chung remains at the forefront of fashion
Chung was married twice before she met her current husband, Shawn Zhang. Despite going through two divorces though, she looks young and energetic as seen on her social media. It’s clear that she’s kept in shape too and it’s almost hard to believe she’s a day over 30.

What’s more, Chung often shares pics of herself experimenting with eccentric looks. She’s often seen in brightly coloured, bold clothing.
In 2020, Chung took part in the Chinese variety show Sisters Who Make Waves, where she showed off her excellent singing and dancing abilities and was praised by her fans for her “girlishness”, per Sohu.
Yasmine Ross is following in her mum’s footsteps
Born in 1998, Ross hails from Chinese, Vietnamese and Belgian descent, according to INF News. Ross shares her mother’s gorgeous eyes and sweet smile, and clearly keeps in shape like her mum too.
Ross also appears to enjoy trying a variety of styles at events, sharing photos of her chic outfits on her Instagram account.

When Ross became the first runner-up for the Miss Chinese Vancouver pageant in 2021, her mum showed endless support and cheered her daughter on.
In an interview after the pageant, Ross said that the competition made her relationship with her mother even closer, per Sohu.
The same source stated that Ross was considering debuting in the showbiz industry, though she’s not made her decision yet. “It’s possible to stay in Vancouver or go back to China, where there are more opportunities after all,” she said.
Chung is always trying to be the best mum she can be
According to 163.com, her daughters appreciate their mother wholeheartedly. On the programme A Date with Luyu, Ross said, “She’s really a good mum who is really encouraging.”

Chung also expresses how proud she is of her three kids. She once wrote on her Weibo account, “We are mother and daughter, but even closer friends.”
We can probably look forward to seeing these three beautiful young girls become known as stars of the fashion world, just like their mother.
