A series of decorative patterns overlap one another, mixing with each other. This creates an intricate and detailed design that brings to mind rock sedimentations, with their various layers, distinguished by texture and color. A sort of imaginary or metaphorical rock, where the complexity of the details is the emblem of the time that has passed and was necessary to form it.

Federico Cortese is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in South Korea. Having always been attracted to everything that can be cataloged and classified, he likes this sensibility to a primordial insecurity, and perhaps the illusion of putting order in chaos, which "soothes this restlessness". While Cortese's subjects vary, they are all languages with their own lexicon, and his attempt to isolate and reinvent them and generate new meanings.
