I made the canvas with total freedom from any idea of form typical of the American painter's action painting. For this purpose I hit the canvas with very diluted colors, often using the dripping technique too, obtaining random layering. Gesture, rhythm, repetitiveness of the pictorial technique create an apparently chaotic tangle characterized by a sensation of randomness, senselessness, violence to which I superimpose a slab in which the city is…
depicted in stark contrast, not only coloristic, but also in shape, with the canvas below . On the canvas I used primary colors (red, yellow, blue) and white, while for the city almost exclusively black: this contrast gives us the feeling of a restless, chaotic and perhaps even violent city, in precarious balance.
