REMEMBER Andrea Bargnani?
For those who just jumped on the Raptors bandwagon following their recent championship, the seven-foot Italian big man was the first European to get drafted first overall in the NBA — by Toronto in 2006 no less.
Bargnani was touted to be the next Dirk Nowitzki because of his shooting and mobility. Instead, the former NBA All-Rookie First Team member flamed out after having more injury plagued years than good seasons.
The last time we heard about the stretch center was when he played for his country in EuroBasket 2015, where they placed sixth. Recently, Bargnani's name has been popping up on our Twitter feed, particularly screenshots of his Instagram bio.
The image above is neither a parody account nor Photoshop edit; his verified profile actually reads: "DJ/INFLUENCER/BLOGGER/LIFESTYLE ADVISOR/MENTAL COACH/PR GURU/TREND-SETTER/FILM PRODUCER/MODEL/ HELICOPTER PILOT/ASTRONAUT TRAINEE/STAY-AT-HOME DAD"
By the looks of things, Bargnani has been jamming feathers in his cap since his time in the NBA, which he curiously left off in his long list of titles.
Netizens are loving this multi-hypenate version of "II Mago" or The Magician, although we can't help but notice that some of his labels seem out of place.
DJ
We can't find any SoundCloud mix, Spotify track, and Facebook event by Bargnani the disc jockey. Thankfully, his legion of fans has uploaded mixtapes — albeit short ones — of his NBA career highlights on YouTube.
INFLUENCER
We guess 88.5k followers count as "clout," but Bargnani has to work even harder to catch up with the LeBrons (51.1m) and Currys (26.8m) of the IG world. He could have had a career as a blogger, though, based on his crazy exploits.
ASTRONAUT TRAINEE
The last time he tried to defy gravity in the NBA, things didn't go so well for Air Bargnani. He did redeem himself in EuroBasket the year after. Are we sure "astronaut trainee" isn't just Italian slang for being high AF?
