The Ducal Castello di Corigliano Calabro, is one of ‘the most beautiful and best preserved castles in southern Italy.’ Built as a military fortress in 1073, it was later transformed into a luxurious place of residence. In 1979, it was purchased by the Municipality of Corigliano, which completed the restoration in 2002.

The palace is stunning. Very well maintained, clean and interesting. With the ticket (5 euro per person, definitely cheap) you will also receive a small guide (available in different languages) which helps to understand the function of each room. Personal guides are also available but I didn't use them. The whole visit takes around 90 minutes. A must see if you are around there!

Beautiful building although massively repaired and replaced by modern brick and concrete. Can't exactly say I like the modern art status being in every room getting in the way of the original decor, but it seems to be a thing in the south of Italy as we've seen it elsewhere too.

Nice restored castle. The view is nice. Don't take google short route.... It takes you through small streets.
