William's Obituary
William E. "Willie" Lupi, 92 of Hamden died Nov. 9th at home after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Paula D'Aniello Lupi. Born in Hamden, son of the late Peter & Louise Gaetano Lupi, Willie was a happily retired co-owner of the Lupi - Marchigiano Bakery. He was an Army veteran, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing and boating in Vermont. William is survived by a devoted son William A. Lupi of Hamden, a daughter Sue Lupi of Mass., a sister Teresa Lupi of Hamden, and a grandson Roland Lupi. He was predeceased by a former wife Shirley Papero Lupi, a daughter Ellen Marie Lupi, brothers; Peter, Rudy, and John Lupi, and a sister Conni Capasso. Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 830 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment with full military honors in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School Chamberlain, South Dakota 57326 or the charity of one's choice.
