Today in non–True Detective Vince Vaughn casting news, The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actor has taken the lead role in a new comedy called The Politician, from What If director Michael Dowse. Vaughn will play a D.C. politician on the run from the law after becoming embroiled in a prostitution scandal. That said, a lying politician could totally be a True Detective villain, so we’ll take this as progress.
