Botanical Description

Low cushion forming. Basal leaves l-2cm long, silvery-grey to green, stem leaves absent or reduced to scales. Flowers pink to purple, 1.2-1.4cm across, on stems from 1-10cm high. There is also a white flowered form. Native to alpine pastures of Bulgaria and possibly Czechoslovakia and Romania. Best in a lime-free soil.
