This Female 7-Way Plug (SKU: 16-724), manufactured by Philips, is a crucial part to electrical wiring system in your rig that can be used to transfer 7-Way power from the truck to the trailer. Specifically, this plug is used to power the trailers blinker lights and the brakes. A plug is essentially the connector that allows all trailer electronics to work. All wires running power through your trailer must be wired up to the terminals on a plug to function properly. This will give the plug its power to then transfer power over to the trailer and supply the required output for your trailer needs. The Female 7-Way Plug is most commonly used on light duty commercial trailers with the purpose to transfer 7-Way power from the truck to the trailer it’s connected to. This product provides the ability to connect the intended wires from the trucks power to the terminals on the plug. This then gives the plug its power it needs to transfer said power to support the trailer blinker lights brakes. Please note the pins on the back of this Female 7-Way Plug are made for a harness to slide over the pins to protect, hold, and give the plug its power. Also, the wires that are connected to the plug do not use set screws, please refer to the picture of this product to identify wiring needs. Whether you are replacing an old plug or are installing a new Female 7-Way Plug, it is imperative to make sure your application has a harness to plug into the back of this receptacle. If your current application does not have a harness, a different receptacle will have to be purchased. An alternative solution is to make a harness for this plug for it to work and function accordingly.
