Tamarind (Tamarindus indica), aka Kawawasha/ Musika, is a deciduous fruit tree. The air-layered plants bear fruit earlier and at smaller sizes. The fruits are sour, especially when picked fresh with green flesh, which turns brown, and sweet-sour on drying. They are rich in antioxidants and vitamin B. The regular tree is large but may be potted to restrict its size. The mother tree is originally from Thailand. Water once or twice weekly until the plants are established. The plants may vary from the images in the pictures.
