Dracaena draco

**LARGER SPECIMENS AVAILABLE. INTERESTED? TEXT OR CALL THE KING AT (281) 591-8833**

The Dracaena draco is indigenous to the Canary Islands. At full maturity, this species reaches heights of 60'. Their monstrous trunks match their jaw dropping height. Trunks have a typical diameters of 12'.

As juveniles, these unbelievable plants are a fantastic choice to be used as decorative centerpiece displays. This succulent sports crowded rosettes of sessile, sword-shaped leaves. Leaves are thick, fleshy, smooth and glaucous green in color. The edges of the specimen's leaves will become translucent and outlined in red if planted in direct sunlight. Flowers are green.

A common superstition maintained to this day is that the dark red, resinous substance exuding from the leaves and trunk is actually dragon's blood. The Cactus King will neither confirm NOR deny this claim. Mainly, we just want to believe that dragons exist. The deep red, blood-like resin of the Dracaena draco was used in ancient times to make dyes. It is now used to make incense, stain for violins along with many other products. It has also shown promise in creating various medicines.
