500 Burnet Herb Seeds Flower, Forage Flower, Herb Sanguisorba minor
Burnet is a perennial herb native to Europe, Africa and Asia. Being drought tolerant, it is often found in dry, grassy meadows and is planted in areas that require aid for erosion control. Although Burnet can survive heat it also does well when the temperatures drop. This plant works as an excellent food source for wildlife. Burnet leaves are sometimes used in salads because their taste mildly resembles cucumbers. Burnet should be planted after the last frost has passed, in an area that receives full sun. It will tolerate some shade, especially in places that experience higher temperatures. When provided the right growing conditions, Burnet will typically reseed itself.
Sowing: Direct sow in late fall, pressing into the surface of the soil. For spring planting, mix the seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 30 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which usually takes 2-3 weeks. The seeds can also be started indoors 6-8 weeks before planting in spring. Keep seedlings lightly moist, and transplant them as soon as they have developed several leaves.
Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established; this plant grows best in moist soil. Seedlings grow rather slowly, usually flowering by their second year. Though they prefer moist soil, mature plants tolerate drought as well as poor soil. This plant will self-seed unless cut back after flowering has finished.
All multiple orders of the same seed are put in the same bag. For example if you order 500 beefsteak tomato seeds x 3 then 1500 seeds will be put in the same bag. We do not send out 3 individual bags with 500 in each. This goes for all seeds unless they are listings of different seeds.
