Product Description

Live healthy Drosera Spathulata Sundew plant about the size of the one in the picture. Comes with a 3 inch net pot, just like the one in the picture, moss ideal for soil, and a detailed caresheet explaining how to take care of Sundews. Spathulata Sundews may be greener and lack a reddish tan during the cooler months of the year. All you will need is a bowl or saucer to hold the Sundew's pot that it comes with and a little bit of water, a gallon or so of reverse osmosis or distilled water, and a sunny window to put your Sundew in. Humidity domes and year round warm weather is not necessary. Don't be fooled by other offers for Carnivorous Plants that have them arrive in or with terrariums or humidity domes. These type of plants have strong light requirements and it is a myth that they need high humidity. The truth is that Carnivorous Plant setups with terrariums or humidity domes almost always cause these types of plants to eventually die. They need to be grown in open air with containers that allow air to get into their soil and there should be little to block or diffuse their lighting.

I love it! We've grown bog plants in the past, but had forgotten they have special needs with regards to water. Luckily we had a barrel full of rain water on hand. We like to give these tiny carnivorous plants ground up dried betta food, sprinkled over the top, once in a while, especially if we can't see any bugs trapped by the dewy leaves. The plant looks very strong, it was still completely moist on arrival, and the instructions were thorough, thank you, Joel's Carnivorous Plants!

I was honestly skeptical about buying living plants online and shipping them through the mail - especially since it wasn't being sent in "one piece". But not only did it arrive quickly, safely, and in good health, the instructions were very detailed and thorough.

I only have one thing I would change - for the love of all of us people with short attention spans and eager finger, please put the instructions on top, with a big "READ FIRST". I had already unboxed everything and cut the bag open to take the plant out before I noticed the paper in the bottom, which had important information a first-time carnivorous plant owner might not be aware of - like leaving the plant in the bag until you're absolutely ready (because the moss has to be soaked first), and you have to use distilled/rain water (not just the usual water left out over night for the chlorine to evaporate).

But so far my little sundew seems happy. Not only has it put out new leaves, It's even putting out some flowers!

I'll definitely be looking here when I'm ready to try something new. ^_^

My plant is perfect!! My little plant got lost in the mail, I reached out to Joel he responded so fast and and shipped another one out, that one got stuck too, so again he shipped another one out. Bless his heart this was not his fault this was the USPS fault not sure what happened, anyway I ended up receiving the first plant he didn't make it 😪 I finally received the second plant and it was perfect, so two days later I received the third plant he sent out again in perfect condition!
