Imagine walking in a dark forest with sunlight breaking through and heating up the rich soil. That is what Galbanum smells like to me. This is my 5th time buying it from Greenwood Essential. I dont even want to try it from else where because I just love the green earthy smell. I mix it with witch hazel and or alcohol and spray it on everything. I also mixed it with jojoba oil and use it on my joints. I am sure it would mix well with sage or cedarwood.

It's almost tempting to believe in reincarnation as this scent seems to reawaken long lost echoes. A favourite of the women of ancient Rome, it has an earthy piquancy. I don't know whether I like it or hate it but it can't be ignored. Very unusual.

This is another great oil from Greenwood. I have to confess that I had not come across Galbanum before and in all honesty the fragrance is not my favourite - it's a very strong, earthy sort of smell and takes some getting used to. However, as with all essential oils, it's not just about the aroma, it's about the health benefits too. This one is said to be good for arthritis and skin problems. It can be used for massages when heavily diluted in a carrier oil, in a diffuser etc.

Greenwood oils are always very good quality and this is another which I am very pleased with.

I did some research on this and some trials show that this is just as effective as using gel NSIADS, and as effective as diclofenac.
I was fascinated by this, so makes it with a carrier oil and gently massage into my hand where I suffer from RSI. I was absolutely astonished to find that on me, it worked!
Enthused and excited I mixed some up for my friend for her son who damaged the ligaments in his foot playing football. It didn't make any difference on him but then he has got a serious and very painful injury.

This has been used for hundreds years as a anti-inflammatory, and I think it's definitely worth a try as it's much safer than taking ibuprofen type gels or tablets.
Never use neat. Always mix with a carrier oil. Even vegetable oil will do.

On its own, galbanum can smell a bit like crushed ferns and cut grass. It's often used in chypre perfumes alongside lots of other ingredients that tone it down. This galbanum oil is perfect for candle and soap making, or adding a few drops to an oil diffuser alongside something else such as rose geranium or even a dark woody scent such as sandalwood or rosewood. It's a small bottle but a little goes a long way.
