Rather than soaking for a couple of hours( turns to a thick jelly like substance), I found it works brilliantly for my sons chronic constipation IBS symptoms, if I soaked a teaspoon in a glass of hot water for around 3-5minutes. It helps and works better if you drink a glass of water before you take it and then 2 glasses of water after you've taken it. His constipation definitely improved significantly.
