Guggul (Commiphora mukul)

Commiphora mukul is a thorny tropical plant native to India, also known as guggul (or gugul).

The beneficial extract used in food supplements is obtained from the bark of the trunk and branches of the plant, commonly known as guggul gum.

Among the active substances contained within it, particular interest is reserved for guggulsterones Z and E which – together with guggulsterols – form part of the soluble fraction of guggul gum, called guggulipide (or gugulipid).

Several properties are attributed to this plant:

  • Anti-inflammatory properties;
  • Antioxidant properties;
  • Hypocholesterolemic and hypolipidemic properties;
  • Antiplatelet properties;
  • Antirheumatic properties;
  • Anti-acne properties.

In addition, thyroid-stimulating properties are also ascribed, which promote lipid metabolism and assist the slimming process.

Guggul is present in the THYROID METABOLISM PRO food supplement (https://www.elisirlife.it/en/integratore-alimentare-thyroid-metabolism-pro-30-bustine.html)
