Vincetoxicum hirundinaria - Swallow-wort

This is very poisonous but, as with many poisonous plants, it also has medical uses; the generic name Vincetoxicum means ‘antidote to poison’. The specific name hirundinaria refers to the resemblance its seed pods have in shape to a swallow’s wings or tail.
