MOMIX brings its inventive dance performance to Tilles Center this weekend

MOMIX's Botanica
MOMIX, the ensemble of inventive dancer-illusionists under direction of Moses Pendleton, returns to Long Island with their lush Botanica. With an eclectic score ranging from birdsong to Vivaldi, Botanica reveals nature’s changing imagery. The performance shows off the endlessly renewable energy of the superb MOMIX performers. Costumes, projections and custom-made props and puppetry add an extra dose of fantasy that will delight the audience. The company presents a special one-hour version for families on Saturday.

Holiday Concert

Long Island Philharmonic
The orchestra brings some holiday cheer to its fans when it presents its “Holiday Spectacular,” a free concert co-sponsored by Nassau County Parks, JJT Energy and Bethpage Federal Credit Union. The LIP, under direction of guest conductor Glen Cortes, presents a varied holiday program featuring classical pieces by Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky Korsakov, with seasonal favorites. The finale includes a Christmas Pops sing-along. All those attending are asked to bring five non-perishable food items, which will be collected by Island Harvest.

Holiday Bird Watching
Observe some of our feathered friends who make Long Island their home during the winter on special guided hike through Muttontown Preserve. Enjoy the season’s beauty on a two-hour nature walk where you’ll have an opportunity to observe such cold weather birds as woodpeckers, hawks, Nuthatches, and Brown Creepers.
