Rs 50,000 Cr fund support for next four years . a most welcome step for the growth of research / innovations in the country. **** Dt 29. 6.2023. *** - Part of recommendations in National Education policy . - Cabinet approved the proposal. To be put up and cleared by the parliament. - would work under Ministry of Science and Technology. - Board to be headed by Prime Minister. - At present bulk research funding going to IITs and IIScs. - Greater funding to private sector anticipated ( about Rs 36000 ). - NRF would forge research collaborations among industry , govt research bodies and academia. - very good opportunity for Indian pharma sector to focus on Innovation drug therapy instead of generic drug therapy! - high time for India to compete and match with Chinese and developed countries’ research / innovation index growth !
