The beauty of this “woolly” Greek foxglove lies in the contrast of its dark veins of the white flower. Together with the common foxglove, as the medically most effective variety, it provides the commodity for the well-known Digitalis heart preparations. It's often grown for pharmaceutical purposes but is also a very decorative half-shrub for the garden. As a medicinal plant for self-medication, the foxglove isn't suitable as it's very hard to dose and as the medicinal effect and the toxic effect lie close to each other.
