In Age of Empires: Mythologies, you take the role of hero and leader of one of three burgeoning civilisations: Greece, Egyptian and Norse. As commander, you’ll not only develop insurmountable armies, you’ll also be tasked with managing economic and scientific needs in order to promote innovation and to power your army.
As the name Mythologies suggest, ancient gods play a supporting role in the game, and you’d rather they shine down upon you in favour than have them as your enemy. With the help of the gods, you can speed up your research forays and gain special, mighty attacks such as the power of an earthquake, lightning storm or plague to help propel your army, especially when they run up against legendary monsters that no mere mortal can overcome.
When you’re not conquering the world, you can conquer your friends. Age of Empires: Mythologies features several multiplayer options, including play via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Using DS Wireless Communications, up to four people with Nintendo DS hardware and his or her own Game Card can strive for world domination on one of the game’s many battle maps and choose from plentiful options and game settings. If multiple players only have one Age of Empires: Mythologies Game Card, they can still enjoy a multiplayer battle either through DS Download Play or pass-around multiplayer, if there’s only one DS at your disposal.
Whether you dominate your friends or the finely crafted, challenging computer opponents, Age of Empires: Mythologies will determine if your strategy skills are legendary or forgettable.
