The honeymoon seems to be over for Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric as the couple announce they have split up after five years of being married.
The once-loving pair has confirmed they are going their separate ways, ending their five-year marriage “after long and careful consideration,” People magazine reported. Announcing their split with a joint statement, Lima and Jaric said they remain “grateful” to have two “beautiful daughters” who they will continue to parent together.

“We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy,” the couple added, “As we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family.”
The breakup news comes on the heels of rumors that the basketballer allegedly cheated on Lima recently, causing the disintegration of their marriage. However, these infidelity reports have not been confirmed as of yet.

Having met at a party in 2006, Lima and Jaric got engaged in 2008 on the supermodel’s 27th birthday. They eloped to exchange vows on Valentine’s Day in a secret and private ceremony in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole.
Lima, 32, famously waited until marriage, holding on to her virginity for Jaric, 35, saying that she wanted to honor her beliefs. “Whatever makes you comfortable. Just follow your values,” the Victoria’s Secret Angel told the Huffington Post last September.
In that same interview, Lima also gushed about her husband, revealing what she liked about the former NBA player.

“He’s smart. He makes me laugh. He’s very funny, he’s very athletic,” Lima said. “It takes time to get to know someone.”
The Brazilian-born beauty also gushed to People about how wonderful her marriage was. “Our life, we live in a honeymoon,” she said six months after getting hitched.
“I never saw myself being married. But after I met him, everything changed,” Lima added. “I knew he was the one and I could see myself married with him and with a big family.” Meanwhile, Jaric himself gloated about his relationship in 2009, saying that he always knew he “wanted to be the ultimate family man.”
Lima and Jaric’s daughters are Valentina, 4, and Sienna, 19 months, who they have been raising together in Miami.
