Also called: Turnera Aphrodisiaca, Herb of the Pastor, Mexican Holly, Mizibcoc (Mayan), Old Woman’s Broom, Oreganillo, Rosemary, Thé Bourrique (French), Turnera and Turnerae.
This is freshly harvested Damiana Leaf. Imported directly from the harvesters in Mexico.
It is then hand-processed by us to remove unwanted debris, including herb powder and seeds.
How this Damiana Leaf is processed.
1. When we receive Damiana Leaf it is immediately sterilized. This process is 100% chemical-free and eliminates any insects that may have been picked up on the journey to us or elsewhere.
2. Each pound of this material is visually inspected and cleaned. Larger, unwanted, and lower-quality material is removed.
3. After visual inspection, it is processed to remove smaller debris (like seeds) and dust.
4. It is then placed in airtight containers and stored at or below room temperature.
Truly premium material.
This process results in the removal of between 10 to 20% of the Damiana. Mostly dust and smaller particles. Nothing you would want in your tea and a common result after we clean high-grade cut and sifted leaf.
The Damiana plant is a relative of Passion Flower.
Damiana is a popular tea. This plant’s fragrant leaf is also used in natural smoking blends, smudges and incense.
