Nephrolepis exaltata is a beautiful clump-forming, evergreen fern with erect to arching fronds with toothed, sickle-shaped, light green pinnae.
Popular since the Victorian times when they were grown in large planters, these elegant ferns look great in a bathroom. They are also one of the easiest of the indoor ferns to grow and have the benefits of being non-toxic, air purifying and humidity regulating.
Thrives in a range of lighting conditions from light shade to bright, indirect light. Keep the soil evenly damp and water when the top of the soil feels dry to the touch. Do not overwater and use lukewarm soft water where possible. Prefers higher humidity, don’t place near a heat source and group with other plants in your kitchen or bathroom to help increase humidity levels. Thrives in average household temperatures but no lower than 13°C in the winter, keep away from draughts.
