Do you have a link to your diagnostic card? By that I mean is there a make & model for the card that you can provide us?

What BIOS are you working with? AMI? Award? Phoenix?
Its called https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/OWgAAOSwhFNjimMt/s-l1600.jpg

4-Digit Pc Mainboard Post Diagnostic Analyzer Test Card

i did all this
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Move the jumper cap to pin [1-2] to clear CMOS then replace the jumper
cap back to pin [2-3] after 3 seconds
Re-install the battery.
5. Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
I have no idea what bios i have on there. o_OI see that c5 is something to do with the bios but don,t know what c3 is ?I did all that and nothing happend.i put the pins back to 1 and 2 it is on all time after turning PSU power on power switch has no effect

I see some bad caps...
On the board? Yes. Good eye. Some are starting to bulge. Already replaced the large ones near the socket about 7 years ago. Should have done them all while at it. My bad. And I still have the earlier edition Abit KR7A board which used the earlier better caps to fall back on. Surprised that board even works. Overclocked the hell out of it back in the day. Even one of the techs on the Abit forums contacted me about it. Shame what happened to that company.

Today was a good day for the collection

GeForce 3 Ti200 - $? wont know what I'm paying until I can confirm dead or working, never had one of these, rare enough find.

This cheap and cheerful older group, all reported to be working as of last use, for the bargain sum of 5 bucks. 5$ AUD. Even if some don't I can repurpose coolers onto similar cards.

I had Asus vento with a phenom 2 x4 965 and a 550ti inside. Nice spacey box for its time. Mined crypto with two cards later. Had 3 gen internal hw swaps until retirement. Photos of the case itself?

Damn guys how time flies. This year it's 20 years when we got:
-the first LGA socket for consumers (LGA775)
-Socket 939
-PCI Express
-DDR2
-GF 6800 & Radeon X800
-and also 2004 had some awesome games, like FarCry, Doom3, Painkiller, HL2, UT2004 etc

Not a bad score. Good theme choice too!
Thanks. I went with Royale Noir as the theme. Same black tones as Zune but with blue accents from what I believe was the Embedded variant of standard Royale.

On that note... I'm not sure if I need to look into a beefier PSU than the actual CWT (Channel Well, one of Corsair's suppliers) ISO-500PP.

Fairly sure the SCSI drive and the dual CPUs are quite nearing the PSU's limits - adding a 160GB WD on the Promise controller resulted in one of the fans refusing to spin until I removed the 160GB drive.

If you're talking about that Dual P3 system, then nope. Those CPU's are a max of 45W each(maybe 55w OC'd) and those drives are 20W max each. The SCSI card is another 15W max. That Radeon 9600 is 65-ishW, so as long as you have at least 350W solid PSU, you're golden.

Gave a new case for my Pentium 4 retro gaming PC. Old one just miserable as the case is broken top panel and feet.

New case. Much cleaner. Still I wanted to put period correct case but as I can't find any in good shape this will do.

I'm using a rather solid CWT (one of Corsair's OEMs) ISO-500PP PSU, rated for 420W, rather strong internals.

The issue here isn't the current setup - it's trying to add another drive on the Promise controller that I start having power issues.

As I'm practically in no need for a new laptop, I've been thinking of some upgrades. Currently has a Haswell i5-4210M (2c/4t) and 8GB (2x4GB) of DDR3-1600. Thinking of getting an i7-4702MQ and 2x8GB DDR3-1600 (doesn't support faster, damn).

And this HAS a socketed CPU as Haswell was the last one to be socketed IIRC.

It is. Pegatron is owned by Asus if you're wondering that Asus-ish look and the font of that model name.

I have never heard of Pegatron. Reading that wiki about them I get the feeling their boards labeled Pegatron in that time period might be knockoff Asus boards. The Polex of knockoff Rolex watches, if you will. lol
I'm not a fan of the G41 chipset, but it seems decent otherwise.

Got a "nostalgic" drive today, after seeing some posts in here, a build thread from @wolf , and the thread about old hardware still in use.

Fired up my ole Alienware system running XP Pro.

Here are the specs:

Asus P5Q-E
QX9550
4 gigs DDR2 1600
500 gig Seagate Constellation
EVGA 8800GTX

Naturally, the CMOS battery is toast. :p
Yeah, it's been awhile since booting it up.
Going to run to Menards and grab a 4 pack of CR2032 batteries. LOL

Then, jumping into some old games:

UT
UT2003
F.E.A.R.
Quake 2
Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed

Maybe not in that order. :p

MSI MS-7267 ver 4.2. both with the coolers “Used / cleaned /tested”
Intel E6600 Core2Duo @ 2.4ghz
4gb DDR2 ram
2
Biostar G31-M7 TE
Intel E7500 Core2Duo @ 2.93ghz
2gb DDR2 ram
