David Gandy: Excuse me if I look a little rough today

The model on how juggling his career with young kids might be turning his hair grey

The morning we speak, David Gandy’s daughters, three-year-old Matilda and eight-month-old Tabitha, are several days into a fever. That means that Gandy, one of the world’s most successful male models, has had only seven hours’ sleep in the past three nights.

“So you’ll have to excuse me if I’m looking a little rough around the edges,” he says.

I think Gandy is sincere. He looks sincere. But of course it sounds like a bit of a humblebrag because his “rough around the edges” is everyone else’s “drop-dead gorgeous Adonis”.

The big blue eyes, the chiselled jaw, that array of dimples when he cracks a grin. Throw in the ultra-toned 6ft 2in frame and it all adds up to middle-aged hotness personified.
