Metroid Prime Remastered's Metascore Reached 94 out of 100

The game is also in the top-5 highest-rated games of all time, according to OpenCritic.

Metroid Prime Remastered, a new exclusive for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch OLED, has received a Metacritic score of 94 out of 100 based on 42 critic reviews which made it one of the highest-rated 2023 releases.

The game was launched last week, on February 8, right after its announcement during Nintendo Direct. Similar to Hi-Fi Rush, which was also surprise-released after a showcase event, critics were unable to evaluate Metroid Prime until it came out, just like the rest of the players, so its score on Metacritic was formed a few days after.

At one point, the game's Metascore even reached 96 out of 100, however, now it slightly dropped. The user score of Metroid Prime Remastered is also pretty high – currently, it reaches 8.8 out of 10 based on 588 ratings.

For comparison, the original Metroid Prime for GameCube has a score of 97 out of 100 based on 70 reviews.

On OpenCritic, the new version of the classic game was also highly evaluated – at the time of writing, it sits in fifth place in the list of highest-rated titles of all time with a score of 95 out of 100.
