The products of the Arslab company, which has existed for just over 10 years, have managed to establish themselves in many countries around the world. The Old School Superb 90 floorstanding speaker is a monumental beauty in retro style with Hi-Fi sound.

Old school in a new way

A pair of speakers measuring 65x34x40 cm and weighing 30 kg each, by their appearance alone, declare that the sound will be excellent. The rigid wooden case is covered with piano lacquer, adding solidity. In addition to black, the manufacturer offers three more, and quite bright ones — yellow, orange and light blue.

Without grills, the system looks really “old-fashioned” — a wide front panel, a characteristic arrangement of speakers, the presence of treble and midrange control knobs with graphs explaining the effect of adjustments on the frequency response, and finally, the inscription “Old School”. But with the installed grills, the “oldness” is lost and the system fits perfectly into any modern interior.

Just what the rocker ordered!

Acoustics is equipped with three speakers that provide sound in the range of 45 – 25000 Hz. Bass is handled by a powerful 10" Wavecor with Balance Drive technology and large linear travel. The mids are transmitted by a 6-inch Wavecor, and the high-frequency band is transmitted by a horn- shaped 28 mm Morel tweeter with a silk membrane.

As for the sound, it is a solid 4+. The stage is wide, the bass is deep and soft, but not boomy, the mids are detailed, and the reproduction of vocals cannot be faulted with all the desire. The highs are bright, but without unpleasant sharpness. At the same time, it should be noted that acoustics is quite demanding on the amplifier (recommended power up to 200 W) and the source, so you have to experiment to unlock the full potential of the system.

Of course, Arslab Old School Superb 90 is an amateur speaker. They are more suitable for an old-school music lover who prefers rock music or jazz, although other styles will also be revealed quite adequately. In the end, the cost obliges. And it is no less impressive here than everything else — $ 3,000.
