Devil May Cry anime trailer

The DMC anime trailer kicks off with some background music and information about the folks behind the show. A new version of Dante then appears and grins before doing a flip and attacking enemies with two guns. These guns don't appear to be Dante's classic Ebony and Ivory. Dante then dodges a few attacks while wearing that same unhinged grin.

Fans of the DMC franchise are already analyzing this version of Dante. One post on social media points out references to past iterations of the character. Design elements include ones from DMC5, DMC3, DMC2, and even the DmC reboot, according to the post.

Tony Redgrave in the DMC anime

Some fans are also theorizing that this character is Tony Redgrave due to the lack of Ebony and Ivory. Tony Redgrave refers to an alias used by Dante in a novel by Shin-Ya Goikeda. The DMC5 video game and the Before the Nightmare novel also noted that Dante once lived in Red Grave City.

DMC anime release date and studio

Currently, the release date for the new anime is unknown. However, we do know that the upcoming DMC anime is by Capcom, Studio Mir, and Adi Shankar. Studio Mir is known for shows such as The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender. Meanwhile, Adi Shankar is known for his work as a producer of the Castlevania series.
