As we reported yesterday, MMA fighter Gina Carano is attached to star in an all-female version of The Expendables. The project was announced in August when scribe Dutch Southern signed on to write the film. Carano, who made her Hollywood debut in Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire, is the first actress to sign on to the movie. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of The Expendables without Gina Carano in it,” producer Adi Shankar told Variety. “It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba.”

While Carano is certainly a powerful headliner (just watch this), we already have a few of our own dream cast members in mind. Take a look at the list below, then make your own suggestions in the comments!

Rooney Mara: What’s really lacking on the male Expendables team is a good Lisbeth Salander. Sure, Dolph Lundgren may have a chemical engineering degree, but it’d be nice to see someone with some computer skills. (Do any of the Expendables even have a cell phone? I mean, Liam Hemsworth wrote his girlfriend a note. On paper.) After cracking cold cases in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, I think Mara’s the perfect addition. Character: Beliz Rednalas, a hacker from Norway with a troubled past and a seething hatred of men.

Sharon Stone: Her Basic Instinct femme fatale is legendary, but did you see her tackle Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall? That woman held her own against Mr. Universe himself. Character: Soledad Steel, a rich but lonely woman trained in the dual arts of Krav Mega and seduction.

Michelle Rodriguez: This woman is the female action star of this generation. Between Avatar, the Fast and the Furious franchise, and Machete, Rodriguez has got the biggest badass factor around. Character: Lucita Santos, street fighter and gun enthusiast. (She dies at the end.)

Linda Hamilton: As Sarah Connor in The Terminator, she’s a just waitress who must save her son from Schwarzenegger’s killing machine. (He seems to be a theme on this list.) By Terminator 2, she’s amassed a small armory to protect the world from machines. Now that’s strategic planning — even if you end up in a psych ward because of it. Character: Sammy Chandler, a survivalist who tangles with Beliz Rednalas over her love of machines.

Milla Jovovich: Okay, I’m not a huge Resident Evil fan (or even a small one), but even I know Jovovich has got to be in this movie. Forget zombies, this woman played a supreme human being sent to save Earth from total annihilation. (See The Fifth Element — seriously, see it.) Character: LuLee Houston, a foreigner with bright red hair who only wears bandage dresses.

Sarah Michelle Gellar: I refuse to leave Buffy off this list. This girl came back from the dead three separate times and protected the world from multiple apocalypses. If there’s anyone you want on your action hero team, it’s SMG. Character: Bitzy Winters, a blonde bombshell with super strength and a fondness for British men. (Spike FOREVER!)

Angelina Jolie: She made a generation of men drool as Lara Croft. Need I say more? For this movie to be a sure-fire hit, Jolie is a must. Character: Katerina Tygrysica, a.k.a. the Queen of Hearts.

Sigourney Weaver: In adangerous situation, there’s no one I’d want by my side more than Ripley (sorry Elizabeth Shaw). If she can take down an acid-bleeding alien, she can take down anything. Character: Eleanor Riscki, team leader and cat lover.
