Ciro Immobile says he will have dinner with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as a sign of gratitude for his 23rd assist: ‘He knows me well as my wife.’
The Italy striker broke the deadlock in today’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico in the second half.
“The fans supported us from start to finish. We are amazing, we need their support in these difficult matches. I’ll never get used to celebrating with them. The shout of the Curva Nord was a relief,” Immobile told DAZN.
The 32-year-old has now scored three goals in six Serie A appearances this season, while the Biancocelesti have 11 points in six games, three behind leaders Napoli, Milan and Atalanta.
“We know that it’s more difficult when we play in Europe, but the club has helped us by signing new players in the summer. They are helping us and we rotated a lot to be fresh today,” Immobile continued.
“Sergej is an incredible player, like Luis Alberto, I’ve shared a lot of my goals with them. They always put me in the right condition to score. They know me as well as my wife, soon we’ll have dinner together.”
“I’ll take note and remember that in the dressing room,” replied Milinkovic-Savic who has delivered 23 of his 41 Serie A assists to Immobile.
“The coach will be happy, he’s been telling us that we’ve never done well after European games. The team is deeper [than last season], Casale and Marcos Antonio helped us today. Reserves can make the difference.”

“I think continuity, I’ve been here for many years and this has always been the main problem. I am proud to have made my 300th appearance with the club. I hope many more will come, the fans are helping us every time, especially in tough moments.”

However, the Tuscan boss complained about the Stadio Olimpico turf which is ‘unworthy of the city of Rome.’
Lazio visit Midtjylland in the second Europa League group stage game, while the next Serie A clash is away at Cremonese on Sunday, September 18.
