SUMMARY
Thallus inconspicuous, pale to dark grey.
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecial 0.2-0.5 mm diam., regular, crowded, soon emergent and sessile, disc flat, orange- to dark-brown, not pruinose. Apothecia often clustered in groups of two or three or occurring singly. Thalline margin thin, slightly raised or often level with the disc, entire to slightly crenate; usually dull grey in colour and often of biatorine appearance; hyphae at upper edge expanded and with blue-green pigment. Epithecium in shades of brown, indistinctly granular, granules superficial (partly soluble in K and soluble in N). Hymenium hyaline, 50-60 µm tall. Paraphyses slender, simple or slightly branched, slightly expanded, brown pigmented. Ascospores 11-14 × 6-8 µm.
Chemistry: thallus C–, K–, Pd–, UV– (no lichen substances detected by TLC).
