I have been trying to find out about this plant that I have. When I first came upon it, it was growing wild. This plant looks exactly like the pictures you have posted. When I first noticed this plant it was just all green and looked like a defensive aloe, honestly. Then it started to turn red on the inside "leaves" in the middle of the plant and at the same time it grew a flower stalk with the flower being red. The flower once it wilted produced what appears to be round, fruit/nuts, encased in green skin. Someone said they were edible. Once the flower died the leaves on the inside went from red to green. Can you tell me if this is the same plant you have posted? I have been looking everywhere. I once found where it was considered a succulent but also found where it is considered a bromeliad. I would really like to know. Unfortunately, I did not save the page where I found that info. Unable to provide a picture right now. What is the most poignant part about this plant, it has barbs on the "leaves", on one side they are pointed upwards and the other side of the "leaf" they are pointed downwards. Excuse me when I say this, "This plant will kick your butt." It's barbs are ruthless! Please if you could provide any info, your pics look exactly like it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
