How to fertilize Agave Attenuata
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Agave Attenuata after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Leaves are transparent and breaking / bending at weak points So, Leo seems to be struggling a bit. He is on the balcony away from the rain now bit was on the edge before. He is in this fine back compacted soil and was thriving at the lady's house I got him off. I did water a couple of times and maybe the soil holds too much water?

My Plant Collection One Year Ago. This pic popped up on my feed. My little collection a year ago 🥹 I thought I would do an update on all the plants in the picture a year on to see how well they’re doing, a different plant every day. Anything I learned along the way, mistakes I made and tricks. 🫶 My first before and after is my Agave attenuata. This plant has been through a lot with me, I placed it in numerous spots inside and outside of my home. Being an agave I thought it would be happy getting direct sun on my front porch with my other succulents, but she would get burnt tips and scorch marks. It also was a tasty treat for slugs 🐌 and snails! So I brought her back in, she only has 3 leaves remaining from when she was outside now, all of her indoor created leaves are perfect 🤩 She’s now living in a west facing window (southern hemisphere) with a sheer curtain. At the moment she’s giving me a new leaf every two weeks! So fast 😃 I really adore this plant and hope I can grow her into a majestic plant one day. I may repot her soon but she’s so happy in this pot it’s hard moving her. She’s in plain succulent mix, glazed pot with drainage. I water her when dry, but she’s never made a fuss if I’m too soon/late. Very easy going plant 10/10 recommend #BeforeAndAfter #HoyaAddictHome #Agave #HappyPlants #PlantAddict

What's going on with this agave cutting #succulentlove #agave #happyplants #propagationstation I was given an agave cutting yesterday and noticed some stuff on the leaves. It's been sitting outside at my coworkers house all summer, and I did notice some ants crawling around. It's gonna stay in quarantine for a while because I don't want it to mess up my other plants.

Agave nectar? #Agave My agave plant has drops of sticky stuff on the leaves, and i know that agave plants produce nectar, but isn’t that only when they’re grown?

I see people buying agave on here and I might want one, but then, where I'm living, that would be silly... that's my sister in the photo with those monsters! #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #inthewild #agave

Good Morning! #GregGang! Please stay away from this shop on #etsy . I can’t say it’s an #EtsyScamShops member but I can tell you that I never leave less than stellar reviews unless there’s a real issue. And this is a first! I have over 1k plants and most aren’t on the app. I ordered two large spiral aloes which they sent and right out of the boxes, there were broken leaves, they looked a bit overwatered, and had mushy leaves. I set them on a shelf and woke up to one leaking sap from the bottom. That same day, as the plants had arrived very dirty, I went to wipe the leaves off one and they started falling off. Next day, rot started taking over. When I contacted them, they said they didn’t know what happened and they would wait until other buyers would review the other aloes. One plant is unlike the other even if they look the same. One may have been overwatered more than the others. Logical concept, yes? No, it appears they cannot fathom the point. The picture they sent me was supposed to be of my aloe but that’s just a picture. The chance it was actually mine is questionable because I have pictures of what I received and they don’t look like the picture they sent which looks exactly like their listing image except for the date. They offered me one replacement that I could drive over to pick up once they move to Pflugerville from California (??) during my initial message to them. Well, now the other aloe is a goner as well. Clearly, they were overwatered and damaged before shipping and they are saying they don’t know what happened.I’ll let you all tell me what you think. I’ll add the link so you can see the videos in the reviews. And I will also attach images of what I saw last night and this morning. Save yourself the money and do not buy from them. There are no refunds and obviously they aren’t aware that I am very aware of caring for aloes, agaves, and succulents. I have not heard back from them since my message last night telling them the aloes were rotting. I spent $200 on plants I expected would be healthy but that’s not what I got. And rather than say, “We can send another one out to you right away!”, they want me to drive 1.5 hours once they move to Texas. Nope! I hate doing this because I find it tasteless however, I’d rather you know whom you cannot trust via their service. Care Summary for Agave Attenuata
Agave Attenuata
Greg recommends:
0.5 cups every 12 days
< 1ft from a window
Repot after 2x growth
Based on the 4” pot your plant is in, and that it doesn’t get direct sunlight.
What other plant parents say
This plant needs decent light. Maintenance commitment requires a power wash monthly to remove bugs. A good indicator is to peel your eye for spiders (which are good! They remove bugs) so the plant is not infested. Use a moisture meter to see how the plant / soil / pot reacts to watering which should be every 12-14 days.
