This was one of my favourite French films of the late eighties but I haven't seen it since. Would it still stand up? Well generally, yes, although obviously it's dated a little.
It's a satirical, almost farcical, comedy comparing rich vs. poor, nature vs. nurture, through a switched-at-birth story set in northern France. It's full of rich, colourful, well-drawn characters who weave their way through a nicely convoluted story.
Without going into detail it's about two families, one very rich, middle class and one very poor working class, who find out that one each of their children were switched at birth 12 years ago (by a jealous nurse, but that's another story) and they have to find the best way…
