Let's start with the food, I ordered a chicken wrap and it was crunchy/crispy but juicy chicken. My husband ordered their wali fish with potatoes wedges and a soup, I tried bites off of his plate and they were delicious, the soup was potato soup with a little bit of bacon in it and the fish was breaded great and made it taste so good and the potato wedges were seasoned and cooked just right!
You can tell this is a very small business that gets people coming back with not only there amazing food but with there kindness and hospitality and honesty. Our waitress gave us suggestions on what to eat and laughed and made jokes with us and even while having a full house she and the other waitress took orders and cleaned while doing so!
If you want a place that serves good food and has very generous workers I would recommend going and trying out here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gerry B.Barrington, United States55185Jul 1, 2023
The only thing worse than the food was the service. After waiting 15 minutes to order the food took 45 minutes to arrive. Dry overcooked burgers. A chicken sandwich with a thin slice of chicken breast that was barely half the size of the bun, over $10. Soggy oily fries. Any fast food establishment would be better in any respect.

Consistently great service, and even greater food, at a great price. They do takeout, which is a plus. My wife and I swear by their Eggs Benedict. TRY THE FISHERMAN'S SPECIAL! It's only available when they have walleye, but it will blow your mind. It's a nice comfortable atmosphere that is perfect for all group types and sizes. Very popular spot for fisherman to drink their coffee and read the newspaper. Come in and give the Harbourage a try.

The owner was extremely friendly. Our group had the fried catfish, double bacon cheeseburger and walleye. The catfish filets were perfect, but the waffle fries needed to be cooked a little longer. The spicy waffle fries were great as was the large double cheeseburger. The walleye order was very generous, but had some lightly sweet batter which didn't compliment the delicate flavor of the fish.
The carrot cake for dessert was superb. I would definitely go back again, but would inquire about the batter on the walleye. Prices are reasonable and orders are large enough satisfy the largest appetite.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jonathan S.Otsego, United States05Jun 13, 2019
Cross border early, get breakfast, walk a couple of feet across parking lot to get bait, fishing a couple hours later! Best routine!

On a recent trip to International Falls, we crossed the border to explore Fort Frances, and ate at The Harbourage. I had the French toast, with bacon, and hash browns. My mom had eggs, bacon, and toast, we also had poutine as an appetizer. I have had poutine before, so I had an idea of what to expect, and I will say, the poutine we had at The Harbourage was pretty good. For those that do not know, poutine is a Canadian appetizer that consists of French fries, cheese or cheese curds, and brown gravy. Regardless of location, I would recommend trying poutine the next time you are in Canada, it's worth it in my opinion. My French toast, bacon, and hash browns were pretty good, it's some of the better French toast I have had. My mom thought the toast was okay, it looked a little burned, but was not a big deal, the eggs were average, and the hash browns were good. All in all, we enjoyed The Harbourage, I really liked the décor of the restaurant, as it has a nautical theme which was cool as there we a lot of different things to look at on the walls. I would go back to The Harbourage, if I were in the Fort Frances area, and I would recommend others try it as well if they are going to be in the area. The only thing is, I'm not sure when or if I will be back in the Fort Frances area anytime soon, but if I am, I would go to The Harbourage again.

Five stars people? Gee Whiz, out of the hundreds of establishments where we have eaten, this certainly does not rank as one of the best! It has cramped seating, is very noisy, certainly nothing special in that dept. The service was fine. The food did not taste bad, actually: my Ceasar salad was nothing special for over $8. Okay lettuce, some shredded Parmesan cheese, croutons, bacon bits and dressing served in a little paper cup. Not a huge portion, either, and two pieces of okay toast with it. Wifey's egg salad sandwich was okay, perhaps not worth the $6 it cost ( if I remember correctly.) Friend's spaghetti and meat balls certainly was not special for $12; not a huge portion, quality was again okay. Friend's bacon/cheese omelette for $8 with burnt toast and no potatos was okay. So overall it was an okay place to eat dinner, but likely overpriced for what you get. However, with the current currency exchange rate it was a bit better value.

Grill was not working so could not order pancakes, then right after we ordered they closed because grill was not working at all. Food was nothing to write home about. Had omelet and the mushrooms and wild rice was over cooked.
