If you're staying in Waikīkī, I recommend this place. As a native New Yorker, it's tough to find good pizza outside of NY & Naples, Italy.
I got to this place later than expected, due to being unfamiliar with the area & construction going on next door (sidewalk was closed). Nevertheless, when I got there, I had to wait for a table. The bar was open, but it's not the same as sitting at a table. I relented & sat at the bar since I was hungry. The bartender, Christian, was a gentleman. Very polite & respectful. I ordered a Margarita Pizza & it was delicious! Yes, it's not as big as a NY style pizza, but I loved it! I almost ordered another one.
Overall, the experience was great. I was staying at a hotel that was centrally located in Waikiki, and the walk to & from wasn't bad. They do have other food besides pizza if that interests you. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 9166529Apr 12, 2024
We usually come here once every trip just to have a "lighter" meal, as their pizzas are quite thin and not loaded with cheese.
The pizzas are "ok" - as is typical for this style, it's wet and sloppy in the middle. The crust has a decent flavour and decent fleck of char.
I personally am not a fan of the marinated anchovy, but that is just a preference.
The hubby had a horrible "negroni" that was made with Aperol instead of Campari. There was nothing in the menu to indicate this so it was an unpleasant surprise.
The octopus "ceviche" was interesting, and decent. It's fully cooked, for those who may be wary.
The service was efficient and friendly. Nothing really outstanding about the spot, but if you're looking for a lighter option and too tired to venture out of Waikiki, this is an option.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah G.El Segundo, CA23688Mar 23, 2024
appetito was a good stop for dinner in honolulu. the service was quick and drinks were great. it was reasonably priced, i would recommend coming here if you're in town.
we were craving pizza and were really happy we came here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 20, 20241 check-in
Came here last night for dinner and had higher hopes for this downtown Waikiki pizza and wine bar. Showed up and got on their waitlist list and after about 20 mins got seated at our table. After a short wait our waitress showed up and took our drink order. This is where it took away another star from our experience. While somewhat friendly sported an attitude even asking for a straw for my wife's drink. Most wait staff carry them on them and don't sport an attitude about asking for one.
For dinner we started off with the portabella mushroom fries which were tasty but lacked seasoning. This place is known for pizza so that's what we got. My wife had the margherita pizza and I had the Italian salami pizza with added olives. While both pizzas were appetizing they were undercooked underneath and not very crispy. As you can see from my pic it totally flopped over and my wife's as soon as you ovked it up all the toppings fell right off. While appealing in looks didn't have any kind of wow factor either. Lack of seasonings and flavors left these pies flat for taste and flavor.
Inside the restaurant was very nice and liked the modern overall vibe for sure. But for 2 personal pizzas, Diet Coke, sparkling water and an appetizer was $90 with tip. Kind of steep prices for something that fell short of a 5 star. Glad we tried it but wouldn't be back...Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Feb 13, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
This was our second time here and just like before it was great. It does get pretty busy so be prepared for that. We didn't make a reservation as it was last minute. Upon check in, there was already a line and a good half hour or so wait for two people. Instead of lounging around outside, we started at the bar. The bartender working that nice was amazing. Seemed like she had a lot or regulars who come to hang out and grab a bite. Very friendly, energetic and entertaining. Had a beer while waiting.
It took about 20 minutes for our table but when we were escorted to it, it was a small hi top table. Between that and the bar, we just ended up staying at the bar. Plus it was more counter space and great company. Food was great, had a pizza and pasta. As one does at an Italian restaurant. Didn't quite remember the name but it had a mixture on kimchi that was quite great with all the flavors. Pasta itself was great. Also had the caprese salad to start.
Just as prior visit, the service was great and friendly. Menu had a great selection of food and drinks. Just be prepared that it does get busy and a reservation maybe advise, not sure if they take them. But, food was great and location was central to everything. Will for sure make another stop when we're in town.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Nov 16, 2022Previous reviewSeen this place and walked by it a few times from previous trip to the island. Always had a busy and lively vibe which is always a plus. Stopped off for dinner, didn't make reservations which I recommended if your thinking of dinner. Mid week and it was still about a 15-20 min wait time. Checked in, put our name down and just walked around outside will we were called. The vibe inside was pretty chill but a nice dining atmosphere. There's a small bar area when you walk in. Outdoor patio seating was available but was little windy. The whole vibe was nice. Service was great. Good menu, you have your traditional Italian dishes, pasta, pizza and so on.
What we had was great, the Raghu pasta and pizza. And a bottle of wine. Food was flavorful and tasty. Portion can be smaller if your a big eater. I believe they do have live music depending on day but I could be wrong. Overall, food was great. Service was great, atmosphere was nice. Would for sure be back next time. - Feb 10, 2024
Omg everything here was amazing!! We got:
Lobster Mac and cheese - a big piece of lobster
Cheese Pizza - the ricotta lumps and honey drizzle are so much a good combo!!
Portobello Fries - I hadn't tried anything like this - sooooo good!
Octopus ceviche - deeeeeelicious!!
Beef ribeye - it did have a big piece of fat down the middle but otherwise perfectly cooked!
Everything was fantastic!! Service was great, it was a little loud so we had to talk louder than normal but we definitely enjoyed our experience and highly recommend!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1568142Apr 3, 2024
Pizzas were good. We just wanted pizza and wine to finish the night. Pizzas are small and thin so definitely one per person. Fresh ingredients but it was soggy and small.

Wine, pasta & pizza. Oh, and some amazing espresso martinis!
One of my fave places to get a yummy meal after an event at the Hyatt. Located on the corner of Kaiulani and Kuhio inside of the Ohana East.
Highly recommend making reservations as it's normally busy during dinners. Not open for lunch anymore currently, but hoping this changes soon!
Gotta get their portabello mushroom fries. Lightly battered and comes with a pesto dipping sauce. Wish these were endless. Hahah.
This night we decided to try the truffle cream
pasta, margarita pizza and a bottle of rose. Cause I can rose all day. Hehe.
Holy heaven was this pasta amazing!! It was the first time I saw it on the menu, and boy did it not disappoint. Super creamy with a strong flavor of truffle in the sauce. Paired with the saltiness of the prosciutto was perfection. The pizzas are always yummy. Nice and thin and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Make sure to get the chili oil to dip your crust into as well! The bottle of Owl rose was nice and crisp. Perfectly light and smooth to wash down our pasta and pizza!
Highly recommend checking this place out if you want some yummy Italian.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 8, 2018Previous reviewAlright, so I've come here a handful of times. Food never disappoints me here. Fortunately, I'm often at a neighboring hotel, the Hyatt Regency, for client & wedding meetings. So, this has become one of my go to lunch places when I have time. It's a very short walk from the hotel, so I don't have to worry about parking. :)
My 2 favorite... portabello fries and the porcini cream pasta! If you like mushroom, I strongly suggest trying both!! The fries are thick cut portabello mushrooms that are lightly floured and fried. They are crispy on the outside and full of mushroom flavor. Along with it comes with a pesto aioli dipping sauce. The pasta is a light cream and cheese sauce. Bits of fried porciutto comes sprinkled on top with some freshly grated Parmesan. Both are ah-mazing!!!
The only reason for the one star deduction is for the host. This young man always seems to be extremely disorganized. No one is in line but it seems to take him forever and a day to sit us. Just standing there and sometimes walking away without even greeting us or explaining why he's leaving. Once, I kindly asked him if I could get change since our server disappeared for a while and he was standing near our table. He rudely said "I don't do that, ask your server" and walked away. Boy, find a new job if you don't know how to do yours correctly! End rant...
Other than that one negative reason, I only have positive things to say about this restaurant. They also have a small private room that can fit up to 18 ppl? Great place and will be back often. - Mervin F.Anaheim, CA271515May 1, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
My Italian husband approved this place. We ordered Margherita & salami pizzas. We both loved that they cooked their pizza in a wooden oven. It's pricey, but it's totally worth it!

Great pizzas, even better customer service! Pro tip: dine in to enjoy them fresh out of the oven!
We initially made the mistake of ordering for delivery, and due to sitting under the heat lamp while waiting for the UberEats driver to arrive, the dough became tough and inedible. However, we continued ordering pizza from here because the flavors are just that good.
Now living walking distance from Appétito, we discovered it's 100x better when eaten immediately. Plus, the servers are incredibly friendly! While waiting for our pizzas, I've observed multiple servers and their interactions with customers--I'm thoroughly impressed by their level of care and top-notch customer service!
This will definitely be our go-to pizza place in Waikiki, and we will recommend it to friends and family.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0
