Yes. Every sandwich. Every single one. Incredible. Italian quality sandwiches. Lovely in every bite. Don't mind the line, there's a reason for it. I dream about these sandwiches.

This was a fantastic place for a quick casual bite to eat. Their pizza was delicious, plain and simple, their calzone amazing. We were too full to try out anything else but we loved everything we tried at a reasonable fair price!
Next time in Amsterdam I seriously can't wait to go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff L.Oklahoma City, OK3621Oct 20, 2020
We had five different sandwiches and all of them were terrific! Affordable, with great, friendly service and they slice the meats in front of you, then load it into freshly baked breads. Authentic and delicious!

Omg are these Italian sandwiches good. These are the best freaking sandwiches you will ever have!! These wicked wiches are made with a toasted baguette and specialty meats and cheese of your choosing. We ordered the spoleto with eggplant, special salami (spinata romana), arugula and provolone cheese. Do ask for the spicy sauce which is a special blend of vegetables. At first when I ate it I was not impressed. I'm not sure what happened but after two bites I could not stop. It's hard to change my mind after I made my mind up about something and this place did just that. My impression was so drastically changed that after my husband and I wolfed that sandwich down we went back and ordered TWO more. The service is great and the people let us try some of the ham to see if we liked it. Would definitely recommend this place. It is for sure the best sandwich I ever had!

Super easy to snag a delicious side of margarita pizza or a calzone at this place. It was full of Italians the night we went. The food quality is very good and the flavors well developed. There are no tables--just some benches around the edges of the room so it's not a place to linger. Will return.

We took the recommendation of a local who heard us saying we wanted to grab sandwiches somewhere. Turned out to be the best recommendation I've had it a really long time. The sandwiches are so fresh and very affordable. I will be back again.

What a friendly group of guys behind the counter - always steering me towards the delicious. I've had three of their lasagnes - all yummy. I've had a pistachio canoli. Yummy. Roasted vegetables. Yummy. Calzone, yum... You get it.
It's a take out joint, although there are a couple of long benches along the window you can sit on if you're trying to grub real quick. The food is presented behind a glass refrigerated case. They will gladly microwave whatever you get to heat it up if you ask.
I won't even bother talking about how low the prices are. It's kinda like they don't realize they could charge even more and retain those loyal fans of their Italian treats. So let's keep this last bit between you and I.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Christian G.Amsterdam, The Netherlands4298069Jun 5, 2013First to Review
This is one of the highest quality Italian delicatessen/Take-out shops in Amsterdam! The bread and pastas are all made fresh daily and combined with beautiful meats and antipastis, the team at Caldi e Freddi deliver what you would find on any corner in Milan. 4 stars instead of 5 because I found the Calzone to not be as filling as it could have been, but otherwise, this is a go to in the Centrum.

Not far from the Dam craziness, yet quiet and cosy. I tried the calzone prosciutto e mozzarella and the tiramisu, both amazing! I`ll definitely go back for more, curious about sandwiches, they have quite an extensive menu. Reasonably priced for very good quality products, definitely not a tourist trap. And cherry on top, a warm welcome smile and nice service.

Very reasonably priced. A bit off the main tourist areas but a great place to grab a quick lunch. Fresh ingredients and sandwiches are made right in front of you. Would not hesitate to visit again
